Who we are:
Florida House Democrats are fighting for a state that works for everybody. We believe that Floridians deserve affordable healthcare, a good job, a world-class education, and a clean environment regardless of what zip code you live in. Over the past 20 years, Republicans have been in control of Tallahassee and in those years we’ve seen cuts in healthcare, environmental protection, and public schools. As a result – millions of Floridians lack access to healthcare, our teachers are among the most underpaid in the nation, and we’ve seen toxic algae take over our waterways and beaches.
That’s why the House Democrats have proposed the Sunshine New Deal, outlining our vision for Florida.
Under our plan, we would expand Medicaid to finally cover over 700,000 Floridians and bring in much needed federal funds to provide access to healthcare. House Democrats understand the value that our teachers bring to students, which is why we’re fighting to give teachers the raise that they deserve. Florida’s sales tax is felt the hardest by families at the lowest income levels. This is why we support a tax rebate for working families who are struggling to put food on the table. Our vision for Florida is a progressive and financially responsible plan that will address the quality of life issues that affect Floridians on a daily basis.
What we do:
House Victory is the Florida House Democrat’s Campaign Committee, we focus on recruiting and providing assistance for candidates in districts across the state of Florida.
For example, House Victory –
-
Recruits and trains candidates
-
Assists candidates with organizing and field strategy
-
Connects candidates to campaign resources and vendors
-
Helps candidates sharpen their messaging
In 2018, we flipped 7 Republican-held seats and we’re getting closer to having a majority. This year we have the most Democratic State Representatives since 1998! But we aren’t stopping here. To take the majority we need your help. We need you to donate, share our posts on social media, volunteer for one of our candidates or run for the House.
